Monsoonal moisture is returning to the Southwest, increasing humidity and the chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. The National Weather Service reports these storms may bring "lightning, strong outflow winds, and heavy rain capable of resulting flash flooding." Residents in Las Vegas and surrounding areas are advised to prepare for changing weather conditions.
The National Weather Service noted increased mid- and high-level cloud coverage this evening, with afternoon temperatures above 100°F. At Harry Reid International Airport, "VFR conditions prevail through the forecast period," though the heat may affect flight schedules. Spotters are asked to report significant weather impacts, and the public is advised to follow official updates.
