In the Northwest Valley of Las Vegas, 20-year-old Allysandra Blea allegedly shot and killed her 23-year-old boyfriend, model Mark Santiago Gaughan, during a photoshoot around 5 a.m. last Saturday. Police recovered a photo showing her "holding the firearm in her left hand with her finger on the trigger," according to 8 News Now, Blea and another woman were posing with firearms when the shooting happened. Authorities say Blea discharged a gun she thought was unloaded, fatally wounding Gaughan. Another photo shows Blea "lying back [on the other woman], holding a black firearm that was pointed at her mouth with her finger on the trigger," as reported by Daily Mail. The group had been drinking before the incident, and Blea told police the shooting was accidental and that she has not taken any firearm safety courses.
Police investigation revealed that Allysandra Blea had a strong interest in firearms, with her social media showing discussions about guns. "In several conversations with various accounts, there was talk about her love of shooting guns, owning guns, building her arsenal and shooting people in the face," detectives said, as per 8 News Now. She also had a bullseye tattoo on her chest. The Clark County coroner ruled Mark Santiago Gaughan's death a homicide.
At her initial court appearance, Judge Suzan Baucum denied bail for Blea, noting that "She was adamant that she did not intentionally kill Mark," and her next court date was set for September 2. Gaughan, a model with Las Vegas-based TNG Agency, received tributes on his memorial page, including one from the agency's founder: "A standout in the crowd. One of a kind. I will never forget him," as mentioned by Daily Mail.
