During a high-stakes incident this morning, a car chase on I-96 near Livonia culminated in a dramatic but non-lethal conclusion, thanks to a grappler device utilized by the local police department. The pursuit began around 7:30 a.m. when Metro South troopers spotted a Chevrolet Cruze reported stolen from Dearborn, with the chase eventually leading into Livonia. ClickOnDetroit reports the use of a high-strength netting system that swiftly disabled the vehicle, preventing further escalation.

Livonia police's quick response brought the pursuit to an end near Farmington Road, as reported by WWJ Newsradio 950.
