The Long Beach Police Department has issued a plea to the public, seeking assistance in locating 16-year-old Corrion Scales, an at-risk individual who went missing on Monday, according to a statement obtained by the LBPD. Corrion was last seen approximately at 5:00 p.m. after being dropped off at his residence, after which he walked away and was out of sight. Notably, this is not the first instance of Corrion walking away; he has done so in the past, but was subsequently found by his family in the vicinity.
Authorities have described Corrion Scales as a black male with black hair, brown eyes, standing at 5'9" and weighing in at 110 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and black shoes. The Long Beach Police Department highlights that Corrion does not have access to a cell phone or tracking device, and his whereabouts, as well as the amount of money he has on him, are unknown. Moreover, Scales suffers from cognitive conditions that render him incapable of self-care.
The urgency in locating Corrion is underpinned by his medical condition, with the LBPD stressing his vulnerability due to his cognitive limitations. Community members and residents of the local area are being asked to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that could lead to Corrion’s safe return.
The LBPD implores anyone with information about Corrion's whereabouts to promptly contact the Missing Persons Detail at (562) 570-7246 or Police Dispatch at (562) 435-6711. Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously through "LA Crime Stoppers" by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), using the "P3 Tips" app, or visiting their website.
