On Saturday, a man was injured in a shooting at a fraternity party hosted by a Texas Southern University member. The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at a home on Wheeler Avenue near Scott Street, where guests were gathered, according to Click2Houston.

Houston police said the violence began when uninvited individuals were asked to leave a party and refused. A fight broke out, and one of the men went to his car, got a gun, and fired into the crowd, hitting a victim in the leg, as reported by KHOU. No arrests had been made, but police said they believe they have identified the shooter.

A man was shot at an off-campus Texas Southern University party and is expected to recover. Guests later returned to the scene to collect their belongings. Witness Sherrie Martinez told Click2Houston, "As soon as I could tell people are getting mad, that’s usually when I leave cause you never know. As soon as I feel like someone’s getting mad and I didn’t know what they were fighting about, so I was just like, ‘It’s time to go.’" Houston police are investigating and asked anyone with information to call 713-526-1111.
