The recent release of the 2025 Best High School Rankings by U.S. News & World Report has placed two Michigan high schools in the limelight, with International Academy of Macomb and International Academy in Bloomfield Hills ranking nationally at 11th and 21st, respectively. These schools showcased their academic clout in a list that evaluated nearly 18,000 schools across the United States, as reported by Audacy.
However, the recognition does not end with these two institutions. According to a report from MLive, Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy (SASA) has achieved the No. 4 position in Michigan and the No. 83 spot nationally. The school prides itself on a pairing of rigorous academics with a performing arts program, and it boasts an 85% Advanced Placement participation rate.
Superintendent Ramont Roberts, in a statement obtained by MLive, expressed his pride in SASA for the national recognition, stating, "This distinction reflects the exceptional dedication of our students, the expertise and commitment of our educators, and the unwavering support of our families and community." In the wake of their success, the school is preparing for the new academic year under the leadership of Kasydra Goode-Tibbs, with classes set to begin August 25.
Meanwhile, a slew of Michigan schools have made significant strides, as per the WHMI report. Hartland High School, for example, jumped in rankings, reaching 69th in the state. Superintendent Chuck Hughes touted the school's academic challenges and remarked, "The staff at HHS are outstanding," acknowledging the proficient AP exam success rates that contributed to their standing in the report. Okemos, Chelsea, and Dexter high schools also ranked among the top 100 high schools in Michigan, reflecting the comprehensive academic advancements in the state.
