An 18-year-old from Millersville, named Ryan Alexander Bray, has been apprehended after allegedly being involved in an assault and found in possession of drugs and firearms in Linthicum, Anne Arundel County. Fox Baltimore reports that the incident occurred on August 22, when police were alerted to an assault on the unit block of Hampton Road at about 10:20 p.m. Bray is accused of pointing a handgun with a green laser at a resident's window and was later captured after a brief vehicle pursuit.
As Bray was stopped in a gray Tesla, police discovered a range of illegal items, including a 9mm Polymer 80 handgun and a .40 caliber Glock with a green laser attachment, drugs believed to be marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms, as well as a substantial amount of U.S. currency. According to The Bay Net, "Inside the vehicle, officers said they found a 9mm Polymer 80 handgun, a loaded .40-caliber Glock handgun with a green laser attachment, 55 grams of suspected marijuana, 15 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, 14 vape cartridges filled with suspected marijuana totaling more than 700 grams, a digital scale, and more than $13,000 in cash."
Bray is now facing several charges, including first-degree assault, possession with intent to distribute, and reckless endangerment. Following his arrest, the courts decided that he would be held without bond. Bray's bail review hearing is set for Monday afternoon in Glen Burnie District Court before Judge Thomas V. Miller III.
Detectives from the Northern District are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The capture of Bray throws a stark light on the intersection of gun violence and drug trafficking within our communities, raising questions about the underlying socio-economic fabric that often nurtures such activities. The Anne Arundel County Police have not issued any further statements on potential accomplices or the wider implications of Bray's arrest.
