
Early Wednesday morning, a collision in west Las Vegas caused major traffic delays when an ambulance overturned on Charleston Boulevard near the 215 Beltway after being struck by an SUV around 8:30 a.m. Nevada State Police responded to the scene, where one ambulance staff member reportedly suffered minor injuries. The crash occurred on a busy overpass, affecting westbound traffic during the morning commute. "The ambulance was en route to a call, and possibly had lights and sirens on when the collision occurred," as reported by FOX5 Vegas.
Trooper Shawn Haggstrom confirmed that "an SUV crashed into the ambulance, knocking the ambulance onto its side," injuring an employee in the back who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, as mentioned by News3LV. Westbound lanes over the Charleston Boulevard overpass were closed for several hours before reopening around 11 a.m. as authorities investigated and cleared the scene, as per KTNV.
Traffic disruptions affected commuters while cleanup and investigation efforts continued. Authorities have not yet released details on potential charges, and motorists were forced to seek alternate routes.
