The same slight chance of rain continues into the night, with partly cloudy conditions and a low around 72.
In Brooklyn, the forecast shows a similar pattern, with a 20 percent chance of rain after 2 p.m. today. Temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler than in Manhattan, reaching a high of around 82 degrees. On Sunday, both Manhattan and Brooklyn share the same chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m., which may result in scattered showers during outdoor activities, as reported by the NWS.
In Queens, the forecast remains largely consistent with nearby boroughs. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., followed by clearing skies and mostly sunny conditions later in the day. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of around 83 degrees.
Moving north to the Bronx, residents can expect weather conditions similar to those in the rest of the city. While some precipitation is possible, the day will feature a mix of sun and clouds, with “a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm,” as per to the NWS. The evening is expected to bring partly cloudy skies and slightly cooler temperatures.
Staten Island is forecast to have “a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm” and a mostly sunny Sunday, according to the NWS. An increase in swell is expected along oceanfronts beginning Monday, which may result in strong surf and rip currents.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook in response to anticipated beach hazards linked to Hurricane Erin. The storm is expected to produce dangerous surf and strong rip currents beginning as early as Monday and continuing through the week.
