Flying to cheer for the Badgers this football season just got easier for the University of Wisconsin fans, as the Dane County Regional Airport has announced the return of nonstop flights to select games. According to FOX 6 NOW, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines are reinstating direct flights for two away games at the University of Alabama and the University of Oregon, for those looking to support their team on rival turf.
Moreover, as reported by WMTV 15 News, regional fans based in Ohio and Seattle will have the opportunity to fly nonstop to Madison, if they're planning on soaking in the competitive atmosphere at the games against Ohio State and the University of Washington this fall, Dane County Executive Melissa Agard expressed her appreciation for the airport's effort saying, "As a UW alum, I know many fans will appreciate these convenient travel options at our airport where they can take advantages of easy parking and quick lines."
Tickets for the nonstop services are currently available for purchase through the airlines, as the airport looks to bring UW supporters closer to the action without the hassle of lengthy layovers or multiple stops. The Dane County airport is leveraging regional pride and the love of college football to boost local transportation business, while also facilitating game-day experiences for enthusiastic Badgers fans.
In a show of local solidarity, Dane County airport's air service development director Tomasz Pajor highlighted the significance of the airport's role in enhancing the athletic experience, "MSN is proud to be a part of the University of Wisconsin athletic experience," Pajor told WKOW, noting that the airport prides itself on offering a stress-free and amenity-rich experience for travelers.
