The City of North Las Vegas held a ceremony to mark the signing of the Apex Area Technical Correction Act. The city said the law allows it to manage permits for electric, water, and natural gas utilities along rights-of-way at Apex Industrial Park, instead of businesses going through the Bureau of Land Management, according to the City of North Las Vegas.

Mayor Goynes-Brown recognized U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Congressman Steven Horsford at a ceremony for their roles in passing the legislation through Congress. The City of North Las Vegas reported the mayor said, “This law fast tracks infrastructure development that will lead to quality jobs in North Las Vegas.”

President Donald Trump signed a law in July, approved with support from Nevada lawmakers, to support the Apex area. The law is expected to create about 73,000 jobs and bring $7 billion in investment over 20 years. It will also increase tax revenue for North Las Vegas to fund public services and make it easier to develop infrastructure for businesses in the industrial park, as stated by the City of North Las Vegas.
