
The North Las Vegas VA Medical Center will receive upgrades as part of a nationwide VA infrastructure project. The North Las Vegas VA Medical Center will get several upgrades. Plans include a new operating room floor, new sterile processing service flooring, road repairs, improved water drainage, and a site for pharmacy carousels. These updates aim to improve the facility for veterans, according to News 3 LV.
Secretary of the VA, Doug Collins, said, "This is another step forward in our efforts to make VA work better for the Veterans, families, caregivers and survivors we are charged with serving," and "Improved facilities, equipment and infrastructure help improve care for Veterans, and these additional funds will enable VA to achieve that goal." The North Las Vegas VA Medical Center, opened in August 2012, provides primary and specialty health services, including 24-hour emergency care. Planned upgrades include new roofs on six buildings and improvements to the radiology department.
