A Nottingham man, previously convicted as a felon, has been sentenced to a term of four years in federal prison on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Gino Michael Gelormino, 42, will also be subject to two years of supervised release following his imprisonment. This sentence was delivered by Judge Matthew J. Maddox in federal court.
The conviction came as a result of diligent efforts by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and Maryland State Police, who were investigating suspected members of the Dead Man Inc. gang. On April 11, 2024, law enforcement officers were able to successfully execute a search warrant at Gelormino’s Baltimore County residence, with Gelormino being present during the search, as noted in a statement detailed by FOX Baltimore.
During the raid, officials uncovered six "ghost guns," a variety of firearms manufactured privately and often lacking serial numbers, which make them difficult to trace. They also seized a 3-D printed machine gun conversion device, commonly known as a "switch," capable of altering a firearm's firing mode to fully automatic. This discovery was highlighted in the report released by the NottinghamMD, which detailed the materials found in the locked master bedroom closet of Gelormino’s home.
Furthermore, law enforcement recovered accessories, including loaded high-capacity magazines, ballistic vests, and approximately 1,258 rounds of ammunition. The presence of paperwork and receipts matching the guns and their related accessories, as reported by FOX Baltimore, provided supporting evidence that the items were indeed possessed by Gelormino. Gelormino’s wife also confirmed that only she and her husband had access to the closet where the items were stored.
Gelormino, now facing a four-year prison sentence, embarks on a penalty phase that will extend into a supervised adjustment back into society, hoping to deter similar violations of federal laws in the future.
