Members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community in Pinellas County are invited to the fourth annual Deaf Fest this Saturday. Hosted by the Pinellas County Deaf Collaborative, the event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lealman Exchange Community Center, 5175 45th St. N., St. Petersburg, offering resources, information, and activities. According to Pinellas County, admission is free, and ASL interpreters from AQI Interpreting Services will be available to facilitate communication.

The event will feature a variety of resources, including back-to-school supplies and a session on hurricane preparedness, with free hurricane kit items available while supplies last. Attendees can also view a live demonstration of the county's text-to-911 service. Additional offerings include employment support, job placement assistance, information on certification programs and paid internships, as well as mental health resources and free wellness screenings provided by BayCare.

Participants will also have access to consumer protection information, as well as tutoring, library, and workshop resources. ALDA Suncoast and Leonardo’s Pizzeria will provide free pizza for attendees. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., officially opening the Family Center on Deafness’ new location at the Lealman Exchange Community Center.
