Two women remain at large nearly two months after allegedly battering an employee during a strong-arm robbery at a southwest Las Vegas business, with police continuing to seek public assistance in the case.
The incident occurred on June 14 at approximately 7:02 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard near West Sunset Road, according to KLAS 8 News Now. The two women are accused of hitting a store employee while committing the robbery, escalating what might have been a simple theft into a more serious violent offense.
Detailed Suspect Descriptions
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have released detailed descriptions of both suspects in hopes of generating community tips. The first suspect is described as a female, possibly African American, in her mid-twenties, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing around 120 pounds. She has long black hair and was wearing a black tank top, light gray sweatpants, white socks, and black slip-on shoes at the time of the incident.
The second suspect is described as a female, possibly African American, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build and short black hair. She was wearing a purple t-shirt with graphics, cut-off ripped denim shorts, and purple sneakers during the robbery.
Part of Broader Crime Pattern
The June incident appears to be part of a sustained wave of commercial robberies across Las Vegas this year. Just last week, News 3 LV reported that police investigated a commercial robbery involving a deadly weapon that occurred on August 1 at approximately 4:35 p.m. near the 4000 block of West Sahara Avenue.
Additionally, police are seeking help identifying five people accused of a commercial robbery at a north valley business that occurred on July 9 after 8 p.m. near Decatur Boulevard and Tropical Parkway, where Fox 5 Vegas reports the suspects used violence and a dangerous weapon during their escape.
