Yoga enthusiasts in Raleigh now have an opportunity to stretch and strengthen their bonds along with their bodies at Hill Street Park. A parent and toddler yoga series is set to offer a blend of fun, fitness, and family time, as announced by the City of Raleigh's Parks and Recreation Department. The program is designed for kids aged 3 to 5 and their caregivers, aiming to introduce the little ones to the basics of yoga through engaging games, music, and stories.
The sessions are scheduled for Saturdays, starting September 6 and through September 27, taking place from 11:15 a.m. to noon. During this time, parents and toddlers will find themselves exploring a variety of poses — from hissing in cobra pose to barking in downward dog, and fluttering their "wings" in butterfly pose. The organizers suggest that both grown-ups and children should don attire suitable for moving freely. Each participant is also reminded to bring their own yoga mat, which should be registered under the child's name.
The initiative aims to promote not just physical wellness but emotional connection as well. "Grown-ups, get your silly hats on!" encouraged the announcement, highlighting the playful aspect of the upcoming classes. A fee of $40 is attached to the program, covering the cost of the four-weekend sessions. Prospective attendees are advised to book their spot by registering ahead of time, as spots for these imaginative adventures in fitness are expected to fill quickly.
For more information or to register for the parent and toddler yoga series, interested parties can visit the Parks and Recreation page on the City of Raleigh's website. Registration is open, but only for the child — a playful twist that emphasizes the child-centric nature of the course. Ensuring children are front and center, participants can look forward to a serene, yet invigorating start to their weekend that leaves everyone involved more centered and ready to face the weekend's challenges.
