Anne Arundel County Police apprehended a Severn man last night after he was reportedly involved in an armed disturbance. The arrest occurred in the 8300 block of Candlewick Court around 10:10 p.m. Officers discovered 40-year-old Nicholas Holmes in possession of a 9mm Ruger handgun during the response to the reported disturbance. Holmes was found, despite a legal prohibition against his ownership of firearms, Fox Baltimore reported.

After the police arrived on scene, the investigators established the man's identity as Nicholas D. Charged with illegal possession of a regulated firearm and ammunition, he was taken into custody without any resulting injuries from the incident.

Court records revealed that Holmes was held without bond, and a hearing was set this afternoon, following the events of the previous night.
