The St. Johns County Office of Public Affairs has been awarded the 2025 Silver Pinnacle Award by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), as announced at this year's PR & Comms Summit. According to St. Johns County website, the esteemed recognition for "Government Team of the Year" celebrates the Office's strategic public relations and communications efforts which have meaningfully impacted the well-being of their community.

The Pinnacle Awards showcase government agencies that have persistently to work in order to forge influential connections with the public and enhance the quality of life of their constituents through effective communication strategies. "I am particularly proud of this award, as it signifies the cumulative efforts of the Public Affairs team," Public Affairs Director Wayne Larson remarked in a statement obtained by St. Johns County. He also emphasized the department's dedication to building solid partnerships with local entities and media, attributing their success to these collaborative relationships.

Notably, the Office of Public Affairs has had a streak of accolades, with the Pinnacle Award being their fourth nod of excellence within the previous year. Their commitment to excellence in government communication was previously honored in May when they received the Certificate of Excellence from the Florida Municipal Communicators Association. Furthermore, the anti-litter campaign “Get Hooked” earned them two awards from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association in September 2024.

St. Johns County seems to steadfastly improve public trust and promote transparency, as Wayne Larson spoke about employing "an integrated marketing communications approach to storytelling and public affairs," during an interview with St. Johns County.
