A 19-year-old West Allis man, Jason Zehe, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to causing a fatal crash in Waukesha last December that killed 17-year-old Megan Voss. According to CBS 58, the crash happened at the intersection of Sunset and Guthrie when Zehe, driving at high speeds, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck two vehicles, including Voss’s car.
TMJ4 reported that Zehe’s blood-alcohol content was .249, more than three times the legal limit, and he was driving 66 mph in a 30 mph zone.
As reported by WISN, Zehe faced three felony charges: homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, second-degree reckless homicide, and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. Prosecutors detailed his excessive speed and failure to obey traffic controls before colliding with Voss’s Audi, which led to her death at the hospital.
As part of his sentence, Zehe will also serve 10 years of extended supervision and must complete eight hours of community service each year on Dec. 30, the anniversary of the crash.
