Reseda, long familiar with the hum of city traffic, became the backdrop for an unusual series of events when two Los Angeles Fire Department vehicles were involved in separate collisions within the same hour and at the same intersection on Wednesday morning. According to FOX LA, the initial incident occurred near the crossing of Vanowen Street and Lindley Avenue, where an LAFD ambulance transporting a patient was struck, followed by a second incident involving a responding battalion chief's vehicle.
The ambulance involved in the first collision reportedly met with a Honda sedan—a crash that, miraculously, left both the car's driver and on-scene paramedics unharmed. The patient in the ambulance was transported safely to the hospital. Close on its heels, a battalion chief's truck rushing to the scene was met by its own accident. As per KTLA, this collision with another dark gray sedan occurred around 9:47 a.m., not half an hour after the first incident.
The consecutive accidents prompted a substantial response from emergency services, which, alongside police, managed traffic and the crowd of onlookers. This response included rerouting vehicles and attending to the debris and damaged machines that littered the road. Aerial images captured from Sky5 showcased the aftermath, revealing the extent of the immediate material losses. As reported by KTLA, both crashes remain under investigation by the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the Vanowen Street and Lindley Avenue intersection until the roadway is fully reopened.
