The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA) is gearing up for an October feast of recognition, as they send out invites to residents who've seen a hundred falls and rises of the seasons to join the second annual Centenarian Luncheon. The agency announced that this luncheon is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Christ's Home in Warminster.
Kristin Chapin, the BCAAA Director, drew community attention with her statement, "This luncheon is our way of honoring the wisdom, resilience, and legacy of our eldest residents," as she emphasized the anticipation for the celebrations adding that county officials and representatives will be there to share in the observance of these remarkable personal histories because the tradition of holding such luncheons is a testament to the storied lives of these centenarians who've experienced changes more sweeping and profound than most can imagine but still stand as esteemed archives of human endeavor.
Attempting to leave no stone unturned or no eligible centenarian uninvited, the BCAAA has asked the local public to be vigilant in case any qualifying residents haven’t received their invites—mails with event details were expected to have reached most by early September.
Anyone with a centenarian in their circle or questions can reach out to Jessica Seith at her email [email protected] or give a ring at 267-880-5700 to ensure participation is an open door for every centenarian, an invitation to share their century's worth of stories and to be duly celebrated in the presence of those who appreciate the breadth of their experiences and how sharing a meal can bridge generations, can serve as a quiet acknowledgment of countless individual contributions knitted into the wider fabric of a community history that breathes vibrantly because of them.
