Last week, the Criminal Justice Training Center in Burien witnessed a special event where 16 children, undergoing significant medical challenges, were sworn in as honorary Chiefs and Sheriffs. One of the honored young ones was Sheriff Noah Loewen, who shared the limelight with Sheriff Swank. These children, coming from various places, were celebrated by their families and community in an event that highlighted more than just the ceremonial badges.
The Sheriff’s Office went beyond the call of duty not just to solemnly swear these little deputies in, but also to organize a fundraiser in their honor. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department Blotter, a considerable amount of $1,735 was raised for Sheriff Noah. These funds aim to directly support him amidst the battles that lay outside the jubilant realm of this one day's festivities. The gesture, as communal as it was tender, provided an array of special gifts intended to make Noah's experience memorable and emphatically marked a celebration of life and resilience.
The initiative aims to bring light to places often overlooked, giving children facing hardship a day to be celebrated. In Noah's case, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department Blotter noted the event provided "lots of special gifts for him to have a memorable time."
