The Clay County Sheriff's Office has put out a call to locals for a bit of Halloween spirit—and some bags of sweets. In a recent social media post cited by their Facebook page, the Clay County Sheriff's Office announced an upcoming 'Trunk or Treat' event. They're on the hunt for store-bought, unopened candy for the community's little ones to enjoy a safe and fun Halloween. "We're asking for donations of store-bought, unopened candy to share with all the little ghosts and goblins in our community," the post stated.
Those wishing to donate to the festivities can do so by dropping off candy at any of the three Clay County Sheriff's Office locations in Middleburg, Orange Park, and Green Cove. The offices are open for donations Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last day to contribute is October 24, giving county residents plenty of time to drop off their contributions.
Family-focused and community-oriented, this annual event demonstrates the Clay County Sheriff's Office's commitment not only to public safety but to engaging positively with residents. As Halloween approaches, such initiatives foster a sense of community spirit and provide safe space for children to celebrate the holiday. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the impact of community involvement in their call to action, stating, "Your generosity helps us create a safe, fun event for families across Clay County."
For those in the Clay County area looking to contribute, the drop-off locations are poised to collect sweetness in scores—much to the delight of the community’s youth. The Clay County Sheriff's Office thanks participants in advance for their support, promising to make this Halloween unforgettable for the costumed kids thumbing through their loot bags. “Thank you for helping us make this Halloween unforgettable!” they echoed in their social media appeal.
