Costco has adjusted its operating hours, now granting Executive members access to stores one hour earlier than other customers. According to FOX8 News, Executive members can begin shopping at 9 a.m., ahead of the standard 10 a.m. opening time. Although the policy was introduced in June, it has only recently been consistently enforced. Starting tomorrow, non-Executive members may be denied entry if they arrive before 10 a.m. on weekdays or before 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
The adjustment to Costco’s shopping hours provides earlier access for Executive members, who pay $130 annually for their membership. This rate represents an increase from the previous year. In contrast, ABC News reports that Gold Star, Business, and Business Add-on members pay $65 per year. The updated access window is available on all days that Costco stores are open.
Costco’s recent changes go beyond early entry hours. According to details reported by ABC News, the company also plans to extend its Saturday closing time by one hour, allowing all members to shop until 7 p.m. This update comes as the retailer continues to grow, operating 882 warehouses globally, including 609 in the United States and Puerto Rico, along with an expanding online presence.
Executive members will have earlier access to stores and will continue to receive the standard 2% reward on most purchases, along with access to travel, automotive, and insurance-related services. The revised store hours are structured to help manage foot traffic and maintain the distinctions between membership tiers.
