Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne was quoted, stating via Cuyahoga County, "Today, we honor the lives tragically lost to homicide and stand with the loved ones who carry that loss every day. Their pain reminds us that one life taken is one too many," in a gesture that not only acknowledges the grief of affected families and friends but also highlights the county's initiative to confront the violence crisis. Leading the Office of Violence Prevention isn’t just a job — it’s a mission that lives in my heart every single day,” further noting the dedication of her role to all who have been affected by gun violence and assuring them that they are not alone in their suffering.
Dr. Thomas Gilson, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, also added his voice, saying via the Cuyahoga County website, “We join with those who have lost a loved one to violence to remember their loss and legacy," as he extended thoughts of comfort to those commemorating the lives of their family members and friends.
