
A deadly blaze engulfed a single-story house in northwest Las Vegas yesterday, claiming the life of an elderly man and causing significant damage. News3LV reported that Las Vegas Fire & Rescue crews were alerted to smoke emanating from a residence on the 7000 block of Feather Pine Street before noon.
The initial call came from a concerned individual who witnessed the smoke but was unable to make contact with anyone inside the home. Upon arrival, firefighters forcibly entered the building and commenced a search for occupants and extinguished the fire. Tragically, an elderly male was discovered deceased inside, as confirmed by multiple sources, including FOX5 Vegas and KTNV.
The cause of the fire is currently under active investigation, with no immediate determinations made public. Alongside the loss of life, the home sustained an estimated $100,000 in damages. Representatives from NV Energy and Southwest Gas also responded to the scene, as noted by FOX5 Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were present to ensure public safety during the incident.
