In a move set to green-light a healthier commute, the City's Transportation & Public Works Department has joined forces with Trinity Metro, announcing that all City employees will now have access to free Bike Share memberships. This initiative falls under the City's ongoing efforts to advocate for sustainable transit solutions and encourage employee wellness.
With stations conveniently located near significant hubs like City Hall—at Fifth and Penn streets, and another at West Seventh Street—staff can now enjoy unlimited 60-minute spins on either electric or traditional bikes. Looking to zip between downtown offices or get some fresh air during lunch without breaking a sweat, particularly with the ease of autumnal breezes, employees have their transport covered.
Signing up couldn't be simpler. As per information available on the Fort Worth City website, the Trinity Metro Bikes app guides users through a quick, paperless registration process, asking for their City government email and the promo code "FWTXBIKES" as a means of eligibility verification. Although there's an initial $50 hold placed on their payment method of choice, it'll be cycled back into their accounts within two business days.
The City and Trinity Metro's investment in this partnership reflects a commitment not just to the environment, but to the health and convenience of their employees. As the weather shifts, riding an e-bike, employees decked out in their work attire can breeze through their commutes without compromising on professionalism or comfort. It's a smart strategy for "Moving a Million" and pushing Fort Worth towards its goal of becoming a world-class city attuned to sustainable practices.
