The Fort Worth City Hall is gearing up to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant celebration that promises to be as educational as it is festive. On Sept. 16, from 5-6 p.m., just before the City Council meeting, the lobby of Fort Worth City Hall will come alive with the sounds of traditional music and the sights of ballet folklorico. According to an announcement by the City of Fort Worth, visitors can expect to enjoy an array of cultural displays, mouth-watering cuisine, and performances by community organizations and vendors.
The event is more than just a chance to party; it's also an opportunity to directly immerse yourself in the local Hispanic culture. The culinary offerings are set to include local favorites such as Don Goyo, Toro Toro, and Los Vaqueros, giving participants a taste to remember. Entertainment isn't lagging, with acts like Ballet Folklorico Azteca and Mariachi de la Gran Plaza de Fort Worth slated to perform. There's also supposed to be a fashion show by Nuestras Raíces and roping demonstrations by Mexico en La Sangre to really diversify the cultural showcase.
As if the performances and food weren't enough, the celebration will take a meaningful turn at 6 p.m. The Fort Worth City Council will present a proclamation to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, as well as local organizations hitting milestone anniversaries. Recognition will take place in the Council Chamber.
