The burgeoning entrepreneurs of Fort Worth are sharpening their pitches for the grand finale of the 2025 Business Plan Competition. According to a recent post on the Fort Worth City News, the top eight contenders are prepping to present their fully-formed business plans to a panel of judges at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth on October 14, hoping to clinch one of the top three spots and the cash prizes that come with them.
In a battle for both recognition and funding, these eight finalists were selected after months of rigorous preparation, undeterred by the challenge to refine their business strategies. Now on the cusp of possible victory, each will have only a five-minute window—three minutes to pitch and two for questions—to impart their business vision and win over the judges. The anticipation for the event is palpable, with free tickets moving quickly and RSVPs pouring in to secure a spot for an evening billed to showcase the city's finest up-and-comers in business innovation.
Prize money is on the line with $4,000 for third place, $6,000 for second, and a substantial $10,000 for the grand prize winner. The top eight businesses span a diverse range of services and aims—from mental wellness to halal snack subscriptions—and each will vie to delineate their service's impact and potential growth. The list of finalists includes a nonprofit aimed at aiding first-gen college students, a STEAM-focused charter middle school, a full-service interior design studio, a custom sign company, an assortment of counseling and public relations services, an integrated coaching and therapy firm, as well as a global snack box subscription service.
