None of the victims was believed to be affiliated with any nearby colleges or universities, a detail first pointed out by MLive. KDPS has called the incident a 'reckless act' and has increased patrols in the affected area. "This was a reckless act that endangered dozens of people. Incidents like this have no place in our community, and we will use every resource available to identify those responsible and bring them to justice," KDPS Deputy Chief Matthew Huber told WZZM13.
