
NASA will announce its 2025 class of astronaut candidates today at the Johnson Space Center. The ceremony, related to staffing the upcoming Artemis II moon mission, will be streamed live at 11:30 a.m., as reported by CW39.
NASA has selected new astronauts from a large applicant pool, according to CW39. They will undergo a two-year training program to prepare for missions to the International Space Station, the Moon, and Mars. NASA is holding virtual events this week to explain upcoming missions, and today’s astronaut ceremony will be streamed live online.
NASA’s Artemis II, scheduled for no later than April 2026, will be the first crewed lunar mission of its program. Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen will travel around the Moon for about 10 days, as detailed by Click2Houston.
