An Uber Eats driver was arrested during a traffic stop in Harris County on Sunday, but deputies delivered the food to the customer. Precinct 4 deputies stopped 47-year-old Ronaldo Carrillo on N. Spring Drive after finding a paper license plate that did not match his vehicle. He was charged with Tampering with a Government Record and is being held on a $100 bond, as reported by Click2Houston.
Constable Mark Herman said the incident showed deputies’ commitment, stating, "Deputies not only enforce the law but also go the extra mile to serve our community," as per Click2Houston. A post on the precinct’s Facebook page carried the same message. Deputy Anderson made the initial traffic stop, and when it was discovered that Carrillo was an Uber Eats driver with an undelivered order, Deputy Chapa completed the delivery.
"To ensure the citizen still received their order, Deputy Chapa stepped in and personally completed the food delivery," according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 on their Facebook page. The post also encouraged residents to follow the page for updates and safety tips.
