A vehicle theft in central Las Vegas escalated into a high-speed chase ending in a crash yesterday afternoon. According to FOX5 Vegas, the Las Vegas Metropolitan police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery near Monroe Avenue and H Street at approximately 3:30 p.m., where suspects made away with a stolen vehicle.
Following the theft, officers managed to swiftly locate the stolen vehicle and began to immediately give chase. The pursuit, while brief, ended when the suspects involved in the robbery managed to crash the vehicle. Details from News3LV confirmed that two suspects were taken into custody after the incident which is currently still under investigation.
As a result of the crash, travel in the area was impacted. The Regional Transportation Commission reported closures on Alta Drive near MLK Boulevard, advising motorists to seek alternate routes while the aftermath of the pursuit was being managed.
