Hillsborough County offers numerous fishing opportunities. With over 150 miles of shoreline and various freshwater locations, anglers have access to a wide range of fishing spots for species such as sunshine bass, largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, and channel catfish.
As per the Hillsborough County website, several parks provide boat ramps and amenities. Edward Medard Conservation Park’s 700-acre reservoir is stocked with sunshine bass by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. Alderman’s Ford Conservation Park offers access to the north and south prongs of the Alafia River, while Lithia Springs Conservation Park also allows fishing along the Alafia River.
Access to the Hillsborough River is available through Morris Bridge Conservation Park, Trout Creek Conservation Park, and John B. Sargeant Conservation Park, which also connects to the Hillsborough River State Canoe Trail. Lake Rogers Park and Lake Dan Nature Preserve offer bass fishing in a lake environment.
