Jelani Christmas, a 42-year-old resident of King of Prussia, has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking operation that extended across Montgomery and Bucks counties. According to United States Attorney David Metcalf, Christmas was given 200 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The charge stemmed from an April indictment, to which Christmas pled guilty in June. The culmination of the case was the discovery of a hidden compartment in a van driven by Christmas, which housed over 50 kilograms of methamphetamine. This find, equivalent to about 111 pounds, was made when law enforcement executed a search warrant on August 14, 2024. Information obtained from the U.S. Attorney's Office states this was a significant seizure in the ongoing battle against narcotics distribution in the region.
Christmas' sentence was handed down on Wednesday by United States District Judge Joel H. Slomsky. The investigation that led to his conviction was a cooperative effort between multiple agencies, including the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorneys Lindsey Mills, John Boscia, and Rebecca Kulik executed the prosecution.
