A low pressure system is moving through Las Vegas, bringing breezy winds, cooler temperatures, and a chance of isolated showers. Today will be the coolest day before a gradual warm-up begins next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Blustery conditions and cooler temperatures are expected before warmer and drier weather returns late in the weekend. The National Weather Service stated, "Temperature forecasts have cooled a little over the last day with only a 10% chance of reaching 100 degrees at Harry Reid Airport on Wednesday and Thursday." Winds will remain light, under 8 knots, following usual patterns through Saturday morning with a possible shift to the east or southeast this afternoon. VFR conditions are expected to continue.
There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon in the Sierra and Owens Valley, with the National Weather Service reporting that "Lightning, sudden gusty winds, and CIGs to 8000ft would be possible with any storms." Southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California are expected to remain dry, with gusts up to 20 knots along the Colorado River Valley.
