Macomb County plans to use $300,000 in federal funds for sewer lining projects on St. Christopher Street and Anchorage Street. The upgrades will focus on existing sewer mains in low and moderate-income communities, according to the Macomb County.
Macomb County will use Community Development Block Grant funds to invest $150,000 in each of two streets for cured-in-place liners to prevent sewer leaks and extend their lifespan. The county plans to request the release of these funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development around October 2. The county issued a "Finding of No Significant Impact," so a full Environmental Impact Statement is not required. Project details are available in the Environmental Review Record online.
Macomb County is accepting comments on community development plans until September 30. Questions can be directed to Associate Planner Brittany Mohr by phone or email. The plans have completed the required environmental review and have been certified for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approval, allowing the use of Community Development Block Grant funds. U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will accept objections for 15 days after the submission date, directed to Keith E. Hernandez, Detroit Field Office Director.
