Macomb County is gearing up for a display of community spirit with its upcoming second annual Volunteer Recruitment Fair, aiming to honor the past while building the future. The event, organized by the Macomb County Office of Senior Services, is set to unfold on Thursday, September 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Robert A. VerKuilen Building in Clinton Township. In alignment with the national Day of Service, the fair will offer locals a chance to connect with a variety of organizations seeking helping hands for ongoing commitments, not just temporary missions.
According to the Macomb County Office of Senior Services, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel believes the essence of volunteering is deeply embedded in the regional identity. "The spirit of volunteerism has always been a defining quality of Macomb County residents," he said. "Their willingness to step up and support others is a true testament to our community, and it’s one of the many things that make Macomb County so special."
With an impressive attendance last year, the organizers are eager to see an even greater number this time around. "We had an amazing turnout last year, and we hope to build on last year’s momentum," Sheila Cote, Director of Macomb County Office of Senior Services, told the Macomb County Office of Senior Services. She further emphasized that the fair is a welcoming space for all who are interested in lending their time to various causes, from providing essential services to those in need to uplifting the commonplace bonds of community life.
