
Earlier yesterday, a 26-year-old man sustained serious chest injuries after discharging a firearm on himself amid a clash within the Capitol Hill vicinity. The incident unfolded around 1:54 a.m. on the 1000 block of East Pike Street where Seattle Police officers arrived following disturbance reports and discovered the injured man; subsequent assistance was provided by Seattle Fire Department medics who then transported him to Harborview Medical Center, detailed by SPD Blotter.
According to witnesses, the man entered a verbal and physical confrontation with several individuals, during which he began brandishing a firearm and threatening those present the suspect, meanwhile pulled the trigger, resulting in him accidentally shooting himself in the chest; another individual from the group incurred an arm injury, not caused by gunfire, and received treatment at the same hospital.
Seattle Police have revealed that one person from the scene was brought to the Seattle Police Headquarters to contribute to the ongoing probe into the case.
