Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that prosecutors Robyn N. Liddell and Melissa Palepu have received distinguished awards. Liddell, Division Chief of the Criminal Trials Division, oversees cases involving sexual assault and police misconduct and was named to the Michigan Lawyers Weekly Class of 2025 “Influential Women of Law,” according to the Department of Attorney General.

“Their tireless work to protect Michigan residents and uphold the law makes a real difference every day, and these honors are well deserved,” Nessel stated in a press release. Liddell has been with the Department of Attorney General since 2014. Palepu previously worked at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and as General Counsel for the Wayne County Land Bank.

Liddell earned a degree in African American Studies from Oberlin College and a law degree from Michigan State University College of Law. Palepu studied Political Science and History at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and received her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Both serve as prosecutors with the Michigan Department of Attorney General and have received awards recognizing their work in addressing serious crimes, as stated by the Department of Attorney General.
