Residents in the Milwaukee area should prepare for a mix of sunny skies and potential thunderstorms over the next several days, with weather officials issuing advisories for increased swim risks along lakefront beaches. According to the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI, today's forecast is mostly sunny with a comfortable high near 75 degrees and modest south winds.
Beachgoers, particularly those visiting Sheboygan County beaches, are warned of hazardous conditions with a Beach Hazards Statement effective until early evening; life-threatening waves and currents mean it's best to remain on the shore, "Stay out of the water, and stay away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls," the statement reads. Ozaukee County beaches also face moderate swim risk conditions and caution is advised for anyone near the water despite the otherwise serene forecast, temperatures tonight dipping to a low around 58 with south winds turning light southwest after midnight.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the weather remains stable with mostly sunny skies again and a high near 75, while the evening cools down to a low around 60 with gentle east winds. The serene weather pattern is set to continue through Thursday, with clear skies and highs in the low seventies, though by the weekend, the forecast suggests an uptick in thunderstorm activity, "There are chances for thunderstorms at times Friday night into the weekend," notes the National Weather Service.
Outside of the immediate Milwaukee vicinity, the hazardous weather outlook spans across east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin indicating that area spotters should remain on standby though immediate activation is not expected, Spotter activation will not be needed, the statement clarifies. The upcoming week's weather seems to involve a dance between calming sunny days, a rise in temperatures by the weekend forecast hitting near 80, and an interlude of rain and thunderstorms that though chances remain slight could stir the peace with showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1pm on Saturday, and a similar pattern for Sunday into Monday.
