Following the unprecedented flooding that shook the city earlier this month, Milwaukee's Public Works Committee is set to convene for a meeting that will scrutinize the Department of Public Works and its response protocols. Alderman José G. Pérez, the driving force behind the communications file, aims to peel back the layers on DPW's flood response to the August deluge that left swathes of the city grappling with hefty property damage.
In the wake of one of Milwaukee's most severe natural disasters, officials from DPW will report to the committee today. Coming to the table with questions and concerns, city leaders, including Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Alderwoman Andrea M. Pratt who have thrown their weight behind the file, are intent on learning just how DPW personnel waded through the crisis brought forth by historic rainfall on August 9-10.
According to a document published by the city, the meeting will occur in room 301-B at City Hall, located at 200 E. Wells St. For residents with keen interest or those directly affected by the floods, the committee's discussions can be closely followed as they will be broadcasted live on the City Channel, and streamed on the city’s website.
