Earlier this month, a high-speed chase unfolded on FM 1960 Road East, escalating into an intense encounter between a motorcyclist and law enforcement. The pursuit began when a deputy from the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 signaled a routine traffic stop. The rider, identified as Joshua Gipson, opted for flight over compliance, triggering a scene all too familiar on our roads.
After an urgent chase, Gipson, who was riding the motorcycle, ended the pursuit by giving in to authorities. According to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Facebook post, deputies found Gipson was armed with a loaded Glock 9mm handgun and was in possession of 1 gram of methamphetamine. His history muddied by conviction and an outstanding warrant for Tax Evasion from Louisiana; Gipson's attempt to escape only added to an already hefty pile of legal woes.
Not only did he have an evading charge, but also he was a convicted felon, which complicates his current possession of a firearm. He was out already, supported by a bond of $10,100, for a prior assault charge in Harris County, a badge of misdemeanors to his name, as per the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Following his arrest, "Joshua was taken into custody for Evading, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and open out-of-county warrants," Harris County Constable Precinct 4 noted. Gipson, faced with these allegations, saw the inside of Harris County Jail where his new total bond was set at $115,000.00 by the 209th District Court.
