
A Saturday night dispute over money led to gunfire in Southeast Washington, D.C., but thankfully, no injuries as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The incident, which took place on September 20, at around 10:58 p.m. in the 100 block of Atlantic Street, Southeast, ended with the arrest of a suspect.
Details from the MPD indicate that the argument between the victim and suspect escalated, resulting in the latter brandishing a handgun and firing. Although the shot was aimed in the victim’s direction, there were no physical injuries reported from the gunfire. In the aftermath of the incident, law enforcement officers successfully located the suspect and promptly placed him under arrest.
According to a statement released by MPD, the man apprehended in connection with the shooting is 39-year-old Alonzo Hinton, a resident of Southeast. He now faces assault charges for his involvement in the confrontation. Specifically, Hinton is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
