A tragic multi-vehicle collision in Orange County resulted in the death of one driver and left three others injured, including a child. The accident occurred on Santiago Canyon Road near Silverado Canyon around 1 p.m. on Thursday, according to KTLA. In the wake of the crash, two adults and one minor were transported to the hospital under unknown conditions, while one adult was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amid the destruction, a tale of bravery emerged as a local gardener, involved in the crash himself, rushed into the fray to rescue a child from a burning car. "What I observed was someone, appeared to be the driver, that was very obviously had died," witness John Thompson told FOX LA. Thompson went on to call the gardener a hero for saving the young child's life. Similarly, another witness, Erin Fletcher, stated, "If he hadn't pulled the kid out of the car, he wouldn't be with us now as quickly as that car became engulfed in flames. He's a hero."

Authorities have not confirmed what vehicles the four victims were in or what caused the crash, as per KTLA. The California Highway Patrol said both directions of Santiago Canyon Road will remain closed for at least two more hours as crews clear the scene and investigators collect evidence. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. No further details have been released.
