Mark your calendars, Pinellas Park residents: the Clean Up Day event is fast approaching. Scheduled for September 13, from 8 AM to 4 PM, the city is offering a FREE program enabling community members to dispose of household trash and yard waste at multiple drop-off sites within the local confines.

While the event provides a much-needed service for the disposal of unwanted items that clutter our homes and yards, there are certain limitations on what can be deposited; the City of Pinellas Park official announcement details that food waste, engine blocks and parts, batteries, motor oil, anti-freeze, hazardous waste materials, paint cans, and electronic screens will not be accepted, reminding us that despite our eagerness to purge our domestic spaces of excess not all can be swept away in this communal effort.

For those looking to participate in the clean-up, there are seven convenient locations around the city accepting different types of disposables. The Bank Of America at the rear parking lot on the 5100 block of 72nd Ave, Broderick Park in the 6700 block of 62nd St, the city property at the northwest corner of 78th Ave and 60th St, the Home Depot parking lot at 4040 Park Blvd, Pinebrook Park parking lot at 7202 118th Ave, Sacred Heart Church parking lot at 8011 46th St, and finally, the Skyview Recreation Center parking lot tucked away in the 5400 block of 90th Ave; these sites offer a place for residents to bring their household trash and yard waste with the city property and Home Depot locations also accepting tires without rims.
