Authorities in Chelan County, Washington have discovered human remains that are presumed to be those of Travis Decker, according to news released Thursday evening. Decker, a Pewaukee native, has been the prime suspect in the homicide of his three daughters. WISN reported that the remains were located in a remote area south of Leavenworth, not far from where the bodies of Decker's daughters were found earlier this summer, with signs of being bound and suffocated.
Detailed investigation by the US Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, along to team up with multiple other agencies, led to the significant find. The identification awaits confirmation through DNA analysis, but preliminary evidence points toward it being Decker. TMJ4 emphasized that the search that resulted in the discovery involved an expansive and collaborative effort, indicative of the case's weighty impact on the community and law enforcement.
Adding to this, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office noted that the Washington State Patrol's crime scene response team is currently processing the scene. The tragic event initially came to light when the bodies of Decker's three daughters, Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia, aged 9, 8, and 5 respectively, were found on June 2 at the Rock Island Campground. This was disclosed in a statement that JSONLINE obtained from the Chelan County Sheriff's Office.
