Round Rock's population is on the rise. According to a recent release from the city's Planning and Development Services Department, the estimated population of Round Rock as of September 2025 sits at 140,524. This count reflects those residing within the city limits and comes from data that takes into account the completed single-family and multifamily units.
This updated figure is part of a routine assessment undertaken by the department, which tweaks its population estimates monthly. For single-family units, they tally completed constructions each month. As for multifamily units, the additions are made every quarter — come January, April, July, and October, the completed ones make it into the stats.
In a statement released by the Round Rock, Texas, official website, the Planning and Development Services Department gave insights into their methodology for projections, which are "adjusted every ten years as decennial Census figures are released". This approach ensures that estimates remain up-to-date and reflective of the city's growth.
Round Rock's continued expansion aligns with broader trends in urban development, where cities in Texas experience a steady influx of residents year over year. The meticulous process followed by the local government ensures that infrastructure planning and public service provision can keep pace with the needs of an ever-growing community.
