It has been over two years since a chilling crime shook the Glen Burnie community, and the search for the suspects responsible continues. According to Fox Baltimore, Anne Arundel County Police have identified two suspects, Crystal Humphries, 35, of Halethorpe, and David Jiles, 39, of Baltimore, in connection with the 2023 carjacking and kidnapping case. Despite having issued arrest warrants, the alleged perpetrators remain at large. Said to be dropping off a friend early in the morning on April 15, 2023, in Glen Burnie, the victim was forcibly taken from her vehicle, confined in the trunk, and later discarded into Curtis Creek from a bridge.

While the carjacking incident began in Glen Burnie's 300 block of Milton Avenue, it wasn't until the suspects reached Pennington Avenue in Baltimore that they extracted the woman from the trunk and dropped her off the bridge. Remarkably, she survived and managed to get to safety with the help of bystanders. The stolen vehicle, a black 2012 Mercedes-Benz S550, was last seen fleeing the scene.

Both Humphries and Jiles are facing serious charges, with Humphries charged with carjacking, kidnapping, and related offenses, and Jiles facing not only these counts, but the more severe allegations of attempted first- and second-degree murder as well.

According to WMAR-2 News, the Anne Arundel County Police are asking for the public’s help to find wanted individuals. If you have any information, you can contact the police directly or stay anonymous by calling Metro Crime Stoppers. Tips that lead to an arrest may earn a reward of up to $2,000.
