New York City is expected to see a mix of sun and periods of rain this week. According to detailed forecasts from the National Weather Service, all five boroughs—Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island—will likely experience varying weather conditions, with precipitation chances increasing from midweek onward.
Weather conditions are expected to change beginning Tuesday afternoon, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The probability of precipitation increases to 60 percent by Thursday. This marks the start of a forecasted pattern of cloudy skies and periodic showers likely to continue through the weekend. Increasing cloud cover is expected to reduce sunlight across the city, accompanied by intermittent rainfall.
In light of the shared forecast, the Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service has notified of a high rip current risk along seashores—Kings (Brooklyn), Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, southern Queens, and Southern Nassau—alerting beachgoers to exercise caution. "No hazardous weather is expected at this time that would meet NWS warning criteria," the Outlook states.
As the week progresses, temperatures across New York City's boroughs are forecast to remain in the mid-70s, with mild conditions during periods of sunlight. These temperatures will coincide with a consistent pattern of precipitation and cloud cover expected to affect multiple areas.
